Garnet Thompson has been a member of Belleville city council since 2006. Thompson wants the city to continue to upgrade its infrastructure, including improvements to roads, bridges, water and wastewater. He says the city has knocked $100 million off a $500 million infrastructure deficit facing the city, and there is more work to do. As a chair in the city’s Accessibility Committee, Thompson wants it to be easier to travel around the city. He also feels that long-term healthcare needs to improve in Belleville, and the city needs to do more to create and grow new businesses.
