KINGSTON – An elusive goat which had been spotted in the area several times since late August in Kingston caused two accidents in the eastbound lane of Highway 401 late Tuesday evening sending a woman to the hospital.
The goat wandered onto the highway in between Sydenham Road and Sir John A MacDonald Boulevard and was struck by a transport truck causing minor damage to its grill.
Shortly afterward a small gray vehicle swerved to avoid the downed animal and ended up colliding with the center median. The woman driving the vehicle was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The Frontenac OPP responded to the incidents and were on scene at 10:40 p.m.
