BELLEVILLE – A 56-year-old Quinte West man was arrested after a strange incident involving a imitation firearm in downtown Belleville last week.
On Sept. 22, police say a man entered a business in the downtown core and started engaging in conversation with a female employee. He then proceeded to remove what appeared to be a firearm from this bag and point it at her, according to police.
The man told her to remain still and asked her to remove her clothing. The employee informed her supervisor of what was happening. The supervisor asked the man to leave. He did so without further incident.
On Sept. 26, the man was arrested in Belleville, and charged with possession of a dangerous weapon and using an imitation firearm while attempting to commit an offence.
