B-Sens sign Melancon to pro tryout
BELLEVILLE– The Belleville Senators signed defensemen T.J. Melancon to a professional tryout agreement on Monday adding some defensive depth to a depleted blueline.
The 21-year old Ottawa native spent three seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with the Blainville- Boisbriand Armada before signing with the Norfolk Admirals of the East Coast Hockey League this season.
In three seasons in the QMJHL Melancon registered 29 goals and 70 assists in 200 games. His 19 goals during the 2016-17 season were first among league Defensemen.
Melancon was cut from B-Sens training camp in September but has been awarded a pro tryout for his great play with Norfolk so far this season registering five goals and eight assists in 26 games for Norfolk.
He will wear number three for the B-Sens.
