TRENTON – The Trenton Golden Hawks have found their new head coach.
Thomas Milne, the recently departed coach of the Newmarket Hurricanes, was announced Monday as the head coach of the Golden Hawks starting in the 2018/2019 season.
The Golden Hawks changed coaches following an elimination in the first round of the OJHL playoffs this season. Former coach Marty Abrams left the team last Friday.
Milne’s Hurricanes squad finished third in the Northeast Conference and eventually lost to the Wellington Dukes in the second round of the playoffs, going the full seven games.
Before his time with Hurricanes, Milne was a coach for the Aurora Tigers. He was a member of the coaching staff that, in 2004, won the RBC Cup, a national championship for junior hockey.
