BELLEVILLE – The city of Belleville will be holding an emergency management open house Wednesday at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre as part of Canada’s Emergency Preparedness Week.
From May 6 to May 12, Canadians are being encouraged to take preparatory actions so they can cope on their own for 72 hours in a disaster situation.
The goal of Wednesday’s event is to bring emergency professionals and the community together to create a better understanding of supports available in the Belleville area, according to a press release from the city.
Participants in the event include Belleville Fire, Belleville Police Services, the Canadian Red Cross and Victim Services, an organization that provides immediate, on-site crisis response in emergency situations.
The open house is free and will run from noon until 3 p.m.
