Senators announce deal with CAA to re-name Yardmen Arena
BELLEVILLE – An agreement to change the name of the historic Yardmen Arena was announced last week by the Belleville Senators.
The team’s management shared their naming rights partnership with the South-Central Ontario division of the Canadian Automobile Association to rename the Yardmen Arena to the CAA Arena in a press release on their website.
Built in 1978, the arena was originally named after a group of railroaders, the Belleville Yardmen, who raised money for its construction. The Senators were looking for a sponsor for the arena since their arrival in Belleville last year as part of their agreement with the city council.
The team plans on honouring the 40-year history of the arena, as well as hosting an official celebration and sign lighting on a future date.
