Man and woman charged in drug bust in Napanee

BELLEVILLE – A man and woman face multiple criminal charges after drugs including fentanyl and heroin, along with cash and weapons, were seized in Napanee Saturday.
The seizure was carried out at a home on Bridge Street in Napanee by the Napanee OPP and the Community Street Crime unit of Napanee, Frontenac and Prince Edward County.
Purple fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana, prohibited weapons and stolen property were found, the OPP report.
A 33-year-old woman from Napanee was charged with six offences, including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of Schedule 1 drugs (heroin, cocaine, fentanyl) and Schedule 2 drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
A 27-year-old man from Gananoque was charged with the same drug and weapons offences, as well as failure to comply with probation.
Both were also charged with possession of property obtained by crime worth more than $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime worth less than $5,000.
The two were held in jail for a bail hearing and were to appear in court in Napanee on Monday.
