Senators hang on for 2-1 win against Laval Rocket
BELLEVILLE – The Belleville Senators brought their record to an even 5 wins and 5 losses Wednesday night after an outstanding 34-save performance from goaltender Filip Gustavsson.
Belleville’s forward Drake Batherson scored the first goal of the game and 12th point of the season. Chase Bailsy added onto the Senators lead in the second period to make the game 2-0.
While the Laval would score one goal in the third period and outshot the Senators, 18-0, Gustavsson’s 17 saves in the period helped seal the victory for the Senators.

It was also a milestone game for defenceman Julius Bergman as he played his 200th AHL game. He would end the game with one assist. Batherson became the team’s leading scorer with four goals on the season.
With the win, the Senators jumped to third place in the North Division. Their next game is against the Syracuse Crunch on Friday.
