Elderly woman robbed by Good Samaritan
BELLEVILLE – Belleville police say an elderly woman was robbed of her medication, jewelry, banking card and cell phone by a woman who was pretending to help her.
According to the police media release, the woman reported the robbery to police on Wednesday night.
She told the police that the suspect woman helped her earlier when she fell in the area of Bridge Street West and Sidney Street. The suspect then assisted the woman to her home which was close by. Police said once they were home the suspect became “snoopy” and lurked inside the elderly woman’s house.
An investigation revealed that the suspect had left the house but she stole the elderly woman’s stuff.
The suspect is described as a white female in her late 20s. She has a pierced eyebrow, according to police.
