Belleville police investigating possible theft

BELLEVILLE – Belleville police say they are investigating a theft from a home that allegedly occurred while the resident was sleeping.
At 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, officers were called to a downtown area to investigate, according to a press release from Belleville police Thursday. Police say they discovered a boot-print in the home belonging to an unknown person who allegedly entered the house while the resident slept. Forensic specialists were called to the scene to gather evidence.
Police say that a DVD player was taken from the home. The incident occurred between 11 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m Wednesday, according to the news release.
