BELLEVILLE – Hunting-licence fees will not be going up this year; the Ontario government has decided to freeze them.
In addition to a freeze on fees, the province has said it will eliminate the $2 service fee for all licences.
The government has also made changes to hunting regulations. These include a licence summary that can be printed or stored on a mobile device, new paper tags and enhanced hunter reporting.
The move comes after the province froze fees for fishing licences last month. The Progressive Conservative government has said both moves are meant to keep licences for fishing and hunting affordable for Ontarians to enjoy the outdoors.
