BELLEVILLE – A Belleville man has been charged with multiple offences after police caught him driving a car with two different licence plates on Purdy Street.
The 54-year-old was pulled over on Sunday around 9:30 p.m. when police noticed the two different plates. They then learned that he only had a G1 licence and no insurance.
A G1 driver must be accompanied by someone who has had their full licence for at least four years, according to the Ontario government’s website. They also cannot drive with any amount of alcohol in their blood, be on the road between midnight and 5 a.m., or drive on 400-series highways or high-speed expressways without a certified driving instructor.
Police seized the plates, towed the vehicle and issued the man a summons to court for February.
