BELLEVILLE – A 31-year-old man from Napanee faces impaired driving charges after officers pulled him over for failing to halt at a stop sign.
Just before 2 a.m. on Saturday, the driver was stopped on Isabella Street in Napanee. The officers say they smelled alcohol on his breath. After an investigation, the man was charged with driving with over the legal limit of alcohol in his blood and driving while impaired by alcohol and drugs.
He was released with a promise to appear in court on Jan. 29.
The OPP remind the public that impairment charges result in a 90-day driver’s licence suspension along with a week-long impoundment of their vehicle. They also encourage witnesses of impaired driving to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
