Tweed Hawks Win Silver Stick Final
By Brett Bullen
BELLEVILLE – The Tweed Hawks triumphed over teams from Ontario and the North-Eastern United States to capture the Bantam ‘C’ Silver Stick Finals trophy this weekend in Forest, ON.
They beat the West Grey Warriors 3-2 in the finals on Sunday afternoon to capture the prestigious trophy.
The Hawks went undefeated in the six team tournament, winning all four of it’s round robin games Friday and Saturday, earning a buy to Sunday’s finals.
The annual Silver Stick Finals tournament is held each year with teams needing to win a Silver Stick regional qualifier tournament earlier in the year in order to move on to the Silver Stick Finals.
The Hawks team will now turn their focus to the All-Ontario playdowns where they are taking on the Norwood Hornets in the first round.
