Transportation a key issue for Quinte-area seniors, especially in winter
By Sarah Law
BELLEVILLE – It can be hard for senior citizens to safely get around, especially in the wintertime.
That is why organizations such as the Canadian Association of Retired Persons for the Greater Bay of Quinte area, Community Care for South Hastings and the local Canadian Cancer Society branch offer transportation services that help older residents in the Belleville area get where they need to go – such as shopping centres and doctor appointments.
QNet News is speaking to representatives from these associations to learn more about how they help senior citizens with mobility issues and what the potential benefits of extending regional transit services are for older residents.
More to come.
