Belleville man arrested for domestic assault

BELLEVILLE – A 22-year-old Belleville man has been arrested for two counts of domestic assault.

Police were called on Wednesday evening to a residence on Sidney Street where they say a woman was being assaulted by her partner.

The man was then arrested for two counts of domestic assault and released with a promise to appear, according to police. 

Police have not released any names to protect the identity of the victim.

The man is set to appear in court on Oct. 28.
