BELLEVILLE– It’s that time of year again.
Out come the hockey sticks and shovels and away go the golf clubs.
Golf courses in the Quinte region have finally closed up shop for the winter, officially ending the 2019 golf season.
Cold temperatures and poor conditions forced country clubs to lock their doors this week.
Roundel Glen on the military base closed on Friday, November 1. Bay of Quinte, Trenton, Barcovan and Timber Ridge all closed over the weekend. Trillium and Black Bear closed up on Tuesday while Oak Hills and Quinte Hills decided to lock up two weeks ago.
Avid golfers willing to bare the shivering weather say they’re disappointed to hang them up, but understanding of the reasoning.
