Stolen credit cards lead to arrests in Belleville

BELLEVILLE – Two men were arrested and one woman is wanted by Belleville police after a wallet was stolen from a car and the credit cards in it used for purchases.
Police say they received a report Monday that a wallet had been stolen from a vehicle around 5:20 a.m. The credit cards from the wallet were subsequently used at several gas stations. Video footage from the gas stations was used to identify the suspects.
Police arrested one man at 2 p.m. and charged him with possessing stolen property. The 40-year-old man was being held for a bail hearing Tuesday.
At 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, police spotted a man matching the appearance of the second male suspect on College Street East and arrested him. The 27-year-old was held for bail on charges of fraud under $5,000, possession of stolen property and breach of probation.
