Outdoor fitness park planned for Bayside Trail in Belleville

BELLEVILLE – The Rotary Club of Quinte will be in front of Belleville city council on Monday night to pitch their proposal for an outdoor fitness park along the city’s Bayside Trail.
The organization is asking for council’s approval to install a set of outdoor fitness equipment in the area behind the Belleville hospital on Keegan Parkway, just east of the Saturn Park playground.
The equipment will include a leg press machine, a sit-up station, two walker machines and a recumbent bike among several other pieces of common fitness equipment.
The park equipment will come as a donation from the Rotary Club and will cost them close to $33,000 in total. The preparation and installation of the park equipment will be taken from the city budget and is projected to cost about $6,000, according to the report published to the city’s website.
If the project is approved, the park is expected to be open on June 1 of this year.
