Memorial service for Kevin Sansom
by Kyle Mumford
Loyalist College students and faculty will gather together Thursday, November 17, to remember the life of colleague and professor Kevin Sansom.
Kevin Sansom was a teacher in the Television and New Media program. Remembered fondly by many, Sansom was a teacher who always found time to advance his student’s learning and love of their craft.
He died of natural causes November 9 at the age of 41. His family held a private service.
Jane Harrison, dean of media studies at Loyalist, said after an overwhelming response from graduates and students, the college decided to hold its own service. So far, the Facebook memorial page for Kevin has almost 400 fans.
“Kevin was generous, (he had) a wonderful sense of humour. He was dedicated to his students and to being a teacher,” said Harrison.
The service will be held at 11 a.m. in the Loyalist College gymnasium.
The event will be streamed live at www.loyalisttv.com/events/loyalist-live and QNet News will be live blogging. Anyone interested in tweeting memories of Kevin, tweets with the hash tag #KevinSansom will be collected and blogged live during the event by QNet News.
