BELLEVILLE – The Trenton Golden Hawks kept their spot atop the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s east division secure with a convincing 5-2 win at home over the Cobourg Cougars Friday night.
The win came four days after Cobourg came to town and thrashed the Golden Hawks 5-1.
Friday night was a different story. The Golden Hawks scored five un-answered goals in the first two periods and fended off a comeback in the third where the Cougars scored two goals. The win came on the strength of two point nights by Andrew Suriyuth, Tyler Nielsen, Griffen Fox and Kyle Robinson.
The Golden Hawks are back on the ice Friday at home against the Whitby Fury.
