BELLEVILLE – The Belleville Senators kept their momentum going on Tuesday, extending their win streak to five.
Belleville picked up a road victory against the Toronto Marlies, winning three to one.
The Marlies scored the first goal of the game within the first five minutes. Senators forward Rūdolfs Balcers tied the game in the first period.
Balcers scored his second goal of the night at the end of the second period, assisted by rookie centre Josh Norris.
Norris increased his points total to 46 and is tied with Drake Batherson for the most on the team. Both are fourth in the American Hockey League in points.
The Senators’ rookie goalie, Joey Daccord, let one goal past him through the entire game while making 25 saves, picking up his 11th win of the season.
The team sits first in the AHL’s eastern conference and has won eight of its last 10 games.
The Senators’ next game will be back home against the Marlies at the CAA Arena at 7 p.m. Friday.
