BELLEVILLE – A 76-year-old Trent Hill resident has been charged with careless driving after a pick-up truck rear-ended a school bus near Brighton on Tuesday morning.
Northumberland police say there were eight children on the bus at the time of the accident. None of the children were injured.
Police and paramedics arrived at County Road 30 north of Hansen Road at 7:40 a.m. where the crash occurred.
Police say the bus was going south on County Road 30 when it stopped to let some children on board. They say a red Chevrolet truck then hit the bus while it was stopped.
The bus driver and the children were unharmed but the 76-year-old driver from Trent Hills was transported to the hospital with minor injuries, according to a police press release.
