Three Belleville car accidents follow Sunday night storm
Belleville police responded to a series of car accidents Sunday night following the first snowfall of the season.
At 7:15 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to the first accident. A vehicle was travelling on Cascade Avenue between Harvest Cresent and Village Drive when the driver lost control because of the poor road conditions, police say. There were no injuries.
Just two hours later Belleville police were called to another accident scene. This time the driver crashed into a traffic light pole at Bell Boulevard and Wallbridge-Loyalist Road.
The driver, a 27-year-old Stirling man, failed a breath screening for alcohol. His license was suspended for three days and his vehicle was towed from the scene.
Shortly after midnight police were at the scene of a third accident. The driver in this accident, also due to the poor road conditions, ended up in a ditch at the side of Moira Street West. Once again, there were no injuries.
