County Road 28 re-opens after pedestrian hurt in accident

BELLEVILLE – A pedestrian struck by a vehicle on County Road 28 has been transported to a Toronto-area hospital with life-threatening injuries. The accident occurred Tuesday morning at around 4:30 a.m.
Police closed County Road 28 between County Road 9 and Rice Lake Drive North while OPP members trained in collision reconstruction measured and documented the scene. It has since been reopened.
No other injuries were reported in the collision.
The OPP Communications Twitter page will post ongoing updates on road closure information regarding this incident and any other traffic related events.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed or has information regarding this collision is asked to contact the Northumberland OPP Detachment at 905-372-5421.
