Medical officer of health soon to leave for a position in Kingston.
BELLEVILLE – After almost three and a half years serving as medical officer of health with Hastings Prince Edward Public Health, Dr. Piotr Oglaza will be leaving for Kingston to serve as the new medical officer of health with Frontenac-Lennox and Addington Public Health.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Hastings Prince Edward Public Health congratulated Oglaza on his new position and thanked him for his remarkable leadership since becoming HPEPH’s Medical Officer.
Oglaza’s last day will be October 15. In the statement, board chair Jo-Anne Albert thanked Dr. Oglaza for his leadership at HPEPH.
He will begin his new role as medical officer at KFL&A Public Health on Monday Oct. 18.
“The Hastings Prince Edward Board of Health heartily thanks Dr.Oglaza for his unwavering dedication, tireless work for our community, and exemplary leadership throughout his five-year career at HPEPH, and in particular throughout the COVID-19 pandemic,” reads the statement.
It goes on to say: “Dr. Oglaza’s leadership has been critical throughout HPEPH’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. His steady, compassionate and decisive leadership has ensured that our region is one of the safest places to be throughout the pandemic. We wish you the very best as you take on your new and exciting role in Kingston!”
