Seven charged in Trenton drug bust
BELLEVILLE — Seven people from across the Quinte region are facing charges after police searched a Trenton residence on Monday morning.
According to a news release, the controlled substance investigation included two vehicle stops and the residence search on Bay St.
Members of the OPP found and seized what they called “a quantity of cocaine” and two weapons.
Nine people were arrested, and two were released without conditions.
Several OPP teams were part of the investigation.
A 40 year old from Quinte West and a 39 year old from Loyalist Township were charged with the following:
- Possess schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine;
- Possess proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose – two counts
The person from Quinte West was also charged with two counts of failure to comply with a release order.
Additionally, a 31 year old from Quinte West, a 37 year old from Tyendinaga First Nation and a 26 year old from Frontenac have been charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine; and
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
The 31 year old is also facing a charge for possession of a schedule I substance – Percocet, and four counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
The person from Frontenac is being charged with possession of a schedule I substance – cocaine.
A 42 year old from Quinte West is facing a charge of failure to comply with an undertaking and a 45 year old from Ottawa is being charged with five counts of failing to comply with a release order.
