Area residents are urged to protect themselves against the flu, the first lab-tested case was confirmed. Strong winds last night caused some minor damage across the region, downed hydro wires and fallen tress were some of the damage reported. Cold weather plagues the Canadian prairies with wind chills reaching minus 50  degrees Celsius with the weather expecting to warm up on the weekend.
