Students look for jobs at 15th annual career fair at Loyalist

Loyalist College hosts it’s 15th annual Career Fair in the cafeteria today, providing a bridge between students and employers.
This year approximately 80 employers are registered to attend the event, a number on par with last year.
Dianne Spencer, executive director of college advancement & external relations, said she is expecting a large amount of people to attend.
“We had an estimated 1,000 visitors between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. walking through last year,” she says. “So, that’s a lot.”
Spencer said that the college attempts to bring as many employers from different field as possible, a practice she says reflects the college’s broad range of programs.
“Loyalist’s placement rate for graduates is consistently one of the highest for an Ontario college, and we’re proud that many of our graduates find rewarding careers right here in our community and region,” said Loyalist College President Maureen Piercy in a news release. “Eighty employers have already registered, indicating industry demand for new talent. Employers tell us that Loyalist’s Career Fair is the most organized and effective one in which they participate.”
