A Rossmore man was arrested and charged by police after an accident February 7.

Prince Edward OPP responded to an abandoned vehicle a little after 5 a.m. around County Road 3 and Old Orchard Road in Ameliasburg. There they found the vehicle was damaged and Hydro One had to be called in to repair damages to a hydro pole and downed wires.

After contacting the owner of the vehicle, police said they were told the vehicle was stolen but later charged the owner.

On Sunday Mark Middleton, 35, of Rossmore was arrested and charged with failing to remain, obstructing a peace officer, and public mischief.

Middleton was released on a promise to appear in court April 3 in Picton.
