Break and enter
BELLEVILLE – Police responded to a break and enter on Bridge Street West Saturday afternoon. The break-in occurred overnight and expensive camera equipment was stolen. Anyone with information is asked to contact Const. Waite of the Belleville Police or Crimestoppers 613-969-8477.
Theft
BELLEVILLE – A woman had her lost purse returned to her Saturday. When she looked inside, she realized she was missing a debit card as well as a bottle of heart medication. Anyone who may come across the bottle of nitroglycerin is asked to contact Belleville police.
Assaults
BELLEVILLE – On Oct. 24, police responded to a complaint of an unwanted person as a result of a disturbance at a business on Wallbridge Crescent. The man was arrested for one count of assault as well as one count of uttering a threat to burn down the business. The accused appeared for a bail hearing Friday.
BELLEVILLE – Police were called to a residence on Sidney Street to break up a large fight Saturday afternoon. A 31-year-old Belleville man was allegedly damaging property in the home when a woman intervened. Police say man punched the woman in the face and then waved a knife at another woman while threatening her, while another male defended the women by punching the accused. The accused was the only person who required medical attention. The man was taken into custody and has been held for a bail hearing Monday. Charges include assault, assault with a weapon, weapons dangerous and uttering death threats.
Disturbances
BELLEVILLE – Police arrested two men for their own protection under the Liquor License Act early Sunday morning. One is a 21-year-old Quinte West man, while the other is a 19-year-old Prince Edward County man.
Early Sunday morning, police were called to Matt & Joe’s night club and arrested a 23-year-old Quinte West man for public intoxication.
Also early Sunday morning, police arrested an unknown woman for public intoxication at 366 North Front St.
Police responded to Little Texas after a 23-year-old Deseronto woman was threatening staff members Sunday at 3:30 a.m. The woman was arrested for breach of the peace.
RIDE Program
BELLEVILLE – A motorist was stopped at a drive-through in the city’s east end. An open bottle of liquor was seized, and the driver was charged with having open alcohol in a vehicle. There was no proof of insurance and the vehicle was towed.
Accidents
BELLEVILLE – Early Friday afternoon, police responded to an accident at the corner of Victoria Avenue and Pinnacle Street. A cyclist had been hit by a car. EMS treated the cyclist, who only suffered minor injuries. No charges were laid.
BELLEVILLE – Police responded to a collision on the corner of North Front Street and College Street early Friday evening. One vehicle failed to remain at the scene. The vehicle that fled the scene is described only as a car with a female driver. The driver had long brown hair that was pulled back. The vehicle, which may have front-end damage, was last seen heading eastbound on College Street East. Anyone with information is asked to contact Const. BELLEVILLE – Police responded to a three-vehicle collision on the corner of Victoria Avenue and Rollins Drive Friday evening. One person was treated by EMS at the scene for minor injuries and one vehicle had to be towed. A 21-year-old Belleville woman was charged with an ‘unsafe turn.’
BELLEVILLE – Belleville Police responded to five accidents within a 90-minute period on Saturday.
At approximately 11:47 a.m., police responded to a two-vehicle accident at the corner of Hwy. 62 and Millenium Parkway. One driver was charged with failing to yield.
Police went to a two-car collision in the east side of the Quinte Mall parking lot at 12:15 p.m.
At approximately 12:51 p.m., police responded to a minor accident in a Bell Boulevard parking lot.
Just three minutes later, police responded to a two-vehicle collision at the corner of North Front Street and Strachan Street. One vehicle was towed.
At approximately 1:12 p.m., police responded to a two-vehicle collision at the corner of North Front Street and Bell Boulevard. Minor injuries were reported.
