Update: Arrests in crack case now up to 11

BELLEVILLE – Eleven people have been arrested in a year-long drug investigation for conspiring to traffic crack cocaine.
Belleville Police executed five search warrants in Belleville and Mississauga, Ont., on Friday.
Four locations in Belleville were searched. Police seized 391 grams of crack cocaine that they say is valued at $54,740. Cash was also seized during the search.
Three people from Mississauga and eight from Belleville have been arrested. Ten f them were in court Monday for a bail hearing, but the hearings were then pushed to later in the week. An 11th person was arrested Monday evening.
The charges include participation in a criminal organization, trafficking in a controlled substance, weapons offences, and possession of property or proceeds obtained by illegal means.
The investigation is being called Project Commuter and is still ongoing. More arrests are expected to be made, Belleville Police say.
