Come to Brighton’s 40th AppleFest
BELLEVILLE – The annual Brighton AppleFest invites everyone to celebrate its 40th anniversary, starting Thursday and finishing Sunday.
This year’s event will be marked by the performances of April Wine, Kim Mitchell and Tony Silvestri on Friday night in King Edward Park, and a new event: the YMCA’s five-kilometre run that will take place on Sunday at East Northumberland Secondary School.
AppleFest also includes the annual street fair, which has grown from six to eight booths when the festival started in 1974 to 150 vendors this year, as well as a car show, a children’s village, an arts and crafts show, dances, live music and fireworks.
On Saturday, there will be free shuttle buses from 9 a.m. till 4:30 p.m. every five to seven minutes.
