BELLEVILLE – It’s municipal election day in Ontario, your opportunity to have your voice in the running of local government.

In both Belleville and Quinte West, online and advance voting is closed. All voting must be done in person at municipal polling stations, which are open until 8 p.m.

In Prince Edward County, online voting is still available until 8 p.m., but you have to pre-register to vote before 6 p.m. Prince Edward County officials have included an instructional video to show you how to register and vote.

Prince Edward County voters who want to cast their ballots in person can go to any polling station, not just the one in their ward.

If you are a student who lives in Belleville, Prince Edward County or Quinte West but have a permanent address somewhere else in the province, you can still vote locally. You need to bring proof of address to the voting station; acceptable documents are government-issued identification, a current bill delivered to your local address, or a post-secondary transcript or report card. If you don’t have identification, you may still vote by completing a declaration of identification. The declaration is available at all polling stations, but you will only be able to go through the process at the station assigned to you.

Hosts Gregory Murphy and Shelden Rogers will kick off the broadcast at 8 p.m.

Set your radio dial to 91.3 FM for 91X’s live election updates starting at 8 p.m. Hosts Kaitlyn Burley and Morgan Davy will provide updated results at the top and bottom of the hour with analysis from former Loyalist College journalism professor and political enthusiast Orland French. Four reporters – two in Belleville, one in Quinte West and one in Prince Edward County – will be capturing all of the action live.
