Quinte-area voter-turnout numbers remain under 50 per cent

BELLEVILLE – QNet News has taken a look at what percentage of eligible voters in Belleville, Quinte West and Prince Edward County cast their ballots in Monday’s municipal election.
In Quinte West, the turnout was 32.97 per cent, a slight increase from the 29.32 per cent who showed up in the 2010 municipal election.
Prince Edward County saw a voter turnout of 43.79 per cent. The 2010 election saw 49.63 per cent of eligible voters cast their ballots.
Election day in Belleville saw 44.7 per cent of eligible voters cast ballots – a small increase from 43.75 per cent in 2010.
The local numbers were below the provincial average. In Ontario as a whole, the voter turnout was 52.1 per cent.
