Animal rescue to host halloween dance fundraiser in Tweed
BELLEVILLE – Local ghosts and ghouls have a chance to channel their Halloween spirit, as well as do some good, at a fundraiser held this Friday by Storm Haven Animal Rescue.
Belleville residents are invited to dance for animal rights from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Trudeau Park Resort.
The Halloween-themed event is labeled as a 19-plus dance that will include a cash bar and various prizes, involving one for best costume.
The animal shelter, located in Corbyville, says they are committed to providing a safe haven for animals in need ranging from horses to the common house cat. All proceeds from the event will go towards that mission.
Co-Owner Krystle Brassard says they originally opened Storm Haven when their black lab passed away due to liver failure. She claims this motivated them to help other animals in need, and what better time is there to hold a fundraiser than Halloween?
“This is our first real fundraiser,” she said. “We’re hoping for a big turnout.”
Animal enthusiasts have a chance to buy their tickets in advance for $10 at Belleville’s Pet Value or Bridge Path. They can also be purchased at the door for $12.
