Quinte Mini Con returns to Belleville
BELLEVILLE – Local geeks and convention enthusiasts have reason to celebrate, as Quinte Mini Con will be returning to Belleville’s Sports and Wellness Center this weekend.
Doors are set to open Saturday morning and close Sunday night, marking the cons second year in action.
Lead organizer Gabrielle Wilson says the idea came to her after a close friend claimed they lived in a “no-mans land” for conventions, but as the event grew so did the purpose.
“The driving force was knowing that it was going to help the local economy,” she said. “With people staying in hotels and going to restaurants.”
While it isn’t the biggest convention around, it is the only one in the area. Wilson promises that there will be more to do and see this year.
Guests for the weekend include artist Dan Day, voice actor John Stocker and other well known personalities within the convention community.
