New smoking ban in Ontario
BELLEVILLE – It will be tougher for smokers to light up in public places in Ontario soon.
Starting Jan 1, 2015, it will be illegal to smoke on restaurant and bar patios, near playgrounds and publicly owned sports places such as hockey rinks. Those who do will be faced with fines of $250
Currently, smoking is not permitted on covered or partially covered patios in Ontario. Under the new regulations, smoking will be prohibited on all bar and restaurant outdoor patios.
Is this a good idea or is the ban going too far?
