Team OHL looks to bounce back against the Russians
BELLEVILLE – Team OHL hopes to rebound Monday night in Kingston after being stunned by Team Russia 4-0 this past Thursday evening in Game 3 of the Subway Super Series.
After Team OHL dominated the first period of Thursday’s game in Peterborough, the Russians took over and scored four goals in the second and third periods.
The game was rough throughout, with lots of big hits. That should make for an exciting rematch tonight.
With the Russians having won both their games against the Western Hockey League and picking up one against the OHL, they have now won three straight. The Russians could win the entire six-game Subway Super Series Monday night if they defeat Team OHL – before they even play a game against the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
Some minor changes are going to be made to Team OHL for Monday night’s game. Belleville Bulls defenceman Jordan Subban and Bulls forward Remi Elie will join the team.
In the 12 years that Canadian junior teams have been playing Russia in the Super Series, Team OHL’s record against the Russians is 19-3-1.
Monday’s game begins at 7 p.m. at the Rogers K-Rock Centre.
