Christmas tours at Glanmore
BELLEVILLE – Glanmore is going old school for its Christmas tour.
Glanmore National Historic Site will be dressed up in holiday style for the Glanmore by “Gaslight” tours over the next couple of weeks. On Dec. 3, 10 and 17, guided tours will be taking place through the house each evening.
“We start at the end of October. The entire house is decorated in 1880s Christmas style. It’s artificial stuff but entirely accurate. All through the house we simulate gaslight, all the light fixtures are original, they were gaslights,” Rona Rustige the Curator at Glanmore said.
Rustige explained that they put flicker bulbs in the light fixtures to simulate the look of the gas lights to create the historic Christmas feel.
Tickets are limited and are available through Glanmore.
