TRENTON – A 52 year-old man pulled off the seemingly difficult task of being arrested twice on the same day.
According to a news release from Quinte West OPP, on Nov. 28 police were called to an apartment building on Herman Street in Trenton. The initial report of an assault taking place turned out to be false, so police left the scene, only to be called back soon after. They then arrested the man in question.
The man was charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes. He was subsequently released on a Promise to Appear and Officer in Charge Undertaking. An OIC Undertaking means there are set conditions the accused must abide by.
He did not abide by those conditions – 30 minutes after his release from police custody the accused was arrested again for breach of the OIC Undertaking. He was held for bail.
The accused appeared in court on Dec. 1.
