Police charge Colborne man after reports of pot-smoking at school bus stop
BELLEVILLE – A Colborne man has been arrested after numerous complaints of a man smoking and selling marijuana to high-school students at a school bus stop.
Northumberland OPP say they received four complaints in November of a man smoking pot or potentially selling it to high-school students.
In response, police in civilian clothing were set up at the bus stop in Colborne around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. They saw a man leave his vehicle, sit down between two students who were waiting for the bus, and light a joint, Northumberland OPP spokesperson Constable Karen German said.
The police arrested a 23-year-old man from Colborne. They later found seven grams of marijuana in his possession, German reported.
The man is charged with possession of marijuana and was released on a promise to appear in court in Cobourg on Jan. 28.
