Belleville chamber promotes Shop The Neighbourhood

BELLEVILLE – The Belleville Chamber of Commerce and Yellow Pages  have teamed up to provide support to local businesses and business owners with a day for local residents to Shop The Neighbourhood.

It is an initiative to help support small and local businesses during the busiest shopping season of the year. The first Shop The Neighbourhood was in the Greater Toronto Area in 2013.

On Tuesday, a Yellow Pages representative, Joelle Langevin, presented the Belleville chamber with a $2,000 cheque for winning a participant incentive prize. Yellow Pages takes care of all promotion costs for the local businesses.

Shop The Neighbourhood is set for Nov. 28 this year – a week and a day after Black Friday in the United States, known as the start of holiday shopping season across North America.

This year, the program has expanded across Canada to Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver. Businesses can get involved by submitting their information to the Shop The Neighbourhood website.
