BELLEVILLE – The Bancroft OPP handed out 12 charges related to distracted driving as a part of their annual Distracted Driving Campaign last week.

During the six day campaign Bancroft OPP were visible on local roadways. Police were educating people on distracted driving and enforcing the laws as a part of the campaign.

OPP collision data revealed 12 out of 51 of this year’s fatal accidents were influenced by inattention in one of the drivers.

Bancroft OPP also added, even though the campaign is over, tickets can still be handed out for distracted driving.
