‘Dangerous’ man arrested in Kingston after three-day search
BELLEVILLE – A man considered dangerous was arrested in Kingston on Monday after a three-day search.
Michael Hawes, 33, was found on Brothlin Crescent by members of the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Squad and Kingston Police.
Hawes was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for breach of his long-term supervision order, a court order that helps offenders with their transition back into society after they fulfill their sentences.
Authorities had asked the public in Belleville, Kingston and Ottawa for assistance in locating Hawes, who was known to frequent the Belleville area.
Hawes, who has a history of sexual assault-related convictions, has now been charged with resisting arrest, being unlawfully at large and breach of a court order.
