Police warn man trying to lure young girls into vehicle
BELLEVILLE – The Belleville Police Service is investigating three suspicious incidents where a stranger has been approaching young women and preteen girls over the past three months.
Police reported the man asked them if they need a ride or want company to walk to school.
The suspect drove a white or cream-coloured four door mid-size vehicle, possibly with tinted windows.
One of three incidents happened in the area of Moira and Yeoman Streets. On Sept. 11, at around 8:30 a.m., police say a young girl was asked by a suspicious man if she wanted a walk to school. Another similar incident took place weeks earlier on Hillcrest Avenue on Aug. 4 around 4 p.m.
The man is described as 5’8″ -5’11” in his mid-20’s wearing dark pants and a hoodie.
