Two people treated for injuries after an explosion in Quinte West

BELLEVILLE – Police continue to investigate an explosion at a home in Trenton on Sunday.

At 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Quinte West OPP and Quinte West Fire Department responded to a call at 24 Annwood Court.
Quinte West Const. David Ludington said the explosion happened in the basement of the building. Ludington wouldn’t say if drugs were involved.
Two people were injured in the explosion. A man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries while a woman was treated for non-life threatening injuries at the hospital.
Members of the Quinte West Crime Unit and the Ontario Fire Marshalls Office are helping with the investigation.
Damages to the building are estimated at $250,000.
