Belleville Skater wins big at Junior Pairs Figure Skating Championships
BELLEVILLE – A local skater and his partner have won big at this year’s Canadian Tire National Skating Championship, taking first prize in their division.
Belleville’s Trennt Michaud and his partner Hope McLean dominated the competition this week, which took place in Halifax, after finishing fourth last year.
The duo now has a very high chance of clinching a spot on the Canadian team which will compete at the World Junior Figure Skating Championships in Debrecan, Hungary this March.
The pair finished with a total score of 154.45, which is 15.3 points more than the runners up Bryn Hoffman and Bryce Chudak.
More to come.
