BELLEVILLE – A romantic comedy by A.R. Gurney called Later Life is the latest production of the Belleville Theatre Guild.
The production had its first performance on Thursday at the Pinnacle Playhouse.
Later Life features two main characters: Austin, a depressed man who thinks bad things are bound to happen to him, and Ruth, a woman who has divorced multiple men. Many years after they once had a romance, the two run into each other at a party in Boston. When a connection begins to blossom again, their friends are there to keep them on the path of love.
The Pinnacle production is directed by Steve Forrester, who also directed the Broadway hit Into the Woods here in Belleville.
Later Life‘s performances run Wednesday to Sunday at 8 p.m. until Feb. 20 at the playhouse at 256 Pinnacle St.
